GNOME 3.0 计划

GNOME 开发者 Vincent Untz 在其邮件列表中公布了 GNOME 3.0（亦即 GNOME 2.30）的计划。该计划着重谈到了以下三点：

  • Revamp our User Experience
  • Streamlining of the Platform
  • Promotion of GNOME

对于普通用户来说，可能会对第一点比较感兴趣。GNOME 3.0 作为一个具有里程碑意义的版本，大的变化是显而易见会有的。其中，GNOME 3.0 将引入两个新的核心组件：GNOME Shell 和 GNOME Zeitgeist。关于 GNOME Shell，我们此前曾向大家介绍过，这里不再赘述。单说 GNOME Zeitgeist，其主页说这是一个用于轻松浏览和查找文件的工具。有一段视频，可以让你直观的感受这个程序。

在 GNOME 3.0 之前，还有一个版本不容我们回避，这就是 GNOME 2.28。GNOME 2.28 预计今年 9 月发布，其 Web 渲染引擎将从 Mozilla/XulRunner 完全迁移到 WebKit。

根据 GNOME 六个月一个新版本的开发周期，GNOME 3.0 在明年（2010）三月有望与大家见面。

    现在KDE一旦变的成熟稳定，关于GNOME过于保守的批评开始浮出来了。 除了容纳一些新的软件，v0.1的变化就是除错再除错，稳定再稳定。 v3.0你快出来吧快出来～

    kde4冒出来这么久，gnome终于耐不住了。哈哈

    GnomeShell 是定下来了，但 GNOME Zeitgeist 不一定的，估计会在nautilus上的基础上开发带journal的功能。

    稳定很重要，可以出新，但不要忽视稳定性，桌面主要是来用的，追新族才会一味求新的，XP用了十年，不也好好的。Gnome可要千万吸取KDE的教训啊。

    @wangdu2002: gnome和gtk怎样迈步也不能大得去那里.所以放心好了.gnome就那么丁点的功能应该也能很快完成.

    而KDE4随着越来越完善...这种进步才是明显的.

    nautilus哪点不好？kde的dolphin和konq完全不靠谱，文件缩略图预览都没有，还不说nautilus的音频播放预览了。

    @wow dolphin怎么样我没用过，但konq的确很棒啊，有文件缩略图，可能你的设置不对。nautilus的音频播放预览是不错，konq没这个很可惜。不过有些功能nautulis没有konq有。在konq里面，如果你要拖一个文件到某文件夹图标上，konq会打开该文件夹，操作完成后自动回到原来的位置。这个功能很实用，可以实现深层文件夹的文件copy,cut paste操作,但nautilus没有。konq还可以上网，把网上的文件拖到另一个标签的本地文件夹，就像本地文件操作一样，但nautilus没有。

    @wow: 又拿KDE来说事了.

    音频播放预览,kde4.3会出现.现在的4.2.68就已经实现.到时可能视频也行. konqueror就不说了.真怀疑你会不会用. konqueror和dolphin没文件缩略图? 你确信不是说笑话吗? 4.3这功能会更强大.

    @Mond 我hardy里的nautilus 2.22.5.1不能上网，是新版本的新功能是吧？话说我连个能开tab的nautilus都没用过，一般是在thunar,emelfm2,pcmanfm之间徘徊……

    Well,in gnome, you can set up a place that is on some server. Click places choose connect to server. Then you can use nautilus visit that server just like locally. This is extremely useful if you work through SSH.

    @Mond 哦，这个我知道。我这个end-user还没用过。konq既是一个web browser，又是一个file manager,这点挺特别的。

    konq扮演文件管理器的角色是个历史遗留问题，现在它这个角色越来越弱化了，而网络浏览器的角色则会越来越强化。
