像是 GNOME、KDE、Xfce、LXDE 这些 Linux 桌面环境，想必大家都比较熟悉。本文将向你介绍五个你可能不知道的 Linux 桌面环境，虽然它们没有前面的那些桌面环境出名，但是同样值得大家关注。

    惭愧，就知道第一个。

    Fluxbox和awesome应该也是用的比较多的，但可能算不上DE,顶多是WM吧。

    Stumpwm 和 Sawfish 都是以common lisp 為建構環境的 window manager,都很適合 emacs user

    基本用Xmonad, 出现问题回到Gnome, Gnome的WM被我换成Openbox, FM换成Thunar

    只有最后一个没听说过。。 另外补充两个仿MacOSX，准确来说是仿NextStep的（只是WM），AfterStep和WindowMaker，不过都比较老了。 还有早两年Sun搞了个Project Looking Glass。

    借宝地问个问题： 笔记本在家和办公室两地使用，一个地方的网络是dhcp,一个地方是静态ip ; 每次都要手工设置网络。 有没有好的软件解决这个问题？ 以前看到过友这样的软件，现在找不到了

    一直在fvwm和sawfish中间转悠。rox只用文件管理。现在好像用不到文件管理器,用到的时候开上一个pcmanfm，我觉得挺好。

    NM 啊！测试过，可以用的。同一个网卡，一个添加成设置dhcp，一个添加成静态。可以随时切换。

    多谢各位的热情回复。 nm 应该是启动以后可以切换。 我现在喝RRG一样，写的不同的interface配置文件，手工切换。

    我记的有个工具，是开机启动网络的时候就能自动判定，要么就是我记错了:D

    另外我没用gnome或kde,所以也没启nm.

    wicd这个工具还没细看，不过这个好像是针对无线网络。 我的情况比较特殊，家是静态无线，公司是dhcp无线加dhcp 的网线。

    提供一点参考 WM的列表 freebsd里的.其实不多 http://www.freshports.org/x11-wm/

    几个有趣的WM sawfish是用, 用的是rep, emacs-lisp类似的语言 orion是用scheme写的,用的是scsh,可能死掉了 scwm是scheme写的,用的是guile和guile-gtk, 2000年已经停止开发

    stumpwm和clfwm是common lisp写的,代码行数 stumpwm-0.9.5 # cat *.lisp | wc -l 13898

    xmonad是haskell写的,代码行数 xmonad-0.8.1/XMonad # cat * | wc -l 2404

    FVWM是拿来配置的 那些minimal的WM就是拿来学习和hack的

    以上我都是新接触 emacs和screen的用户 stumpwm值得考虑

    etoile在硬盘上停留了半个小时。因为根本不知道如何使其和我都.xinitrc配合。连一个进入桌面环境的executable都没找到。
