拖了半年的 Firefox 4 正式发布还不到半年，Firefox 5 又横空出世了！

Firefox 5 带来了以下新功能：

  • CSS 动画支持。
  • 将“免追踪”功能移动到“隐私”选项卡下，便于发现和使用。
  • 改善 Canva、JavaScript、内存和网络性能。
  • 改善对于 HTML5, XHR, MathML, SMIL, 和 Canvas 标准的支持。
  • 改善对于部分语言的拼写检查。
  • 禁止 WebGL 跨域加载素材。
  • 后台不活动标签页的 setTimeout 和 setInterval 限定为 1000ms。
  • 移除先前 Beta 引入的 Channel 切换器。

    启动太慢。 开启页面太慢了。 不如旧版本的FF。

    为毛mozilla也开始彪版本号了，又没多少实际功能，很不习惯的。

    TinEye扩展不能用了，T_T

    其实Chakra上还是有gtk2和cairo，能用native的firefox的，刚编译的firefox-opensuse-kde……

    @coneagoe: Fx 5 很稳定了，addon 兼容性问题装个 Nightly Tester Tools 禁用兼容性检查即可，Fx 4->5 的 addon API 几乎没变的。

    @cheer_xiao: 版本号如果是软件工程方面的考虑反而不会这么飙了…………以前的版本号变更比现在有道理多了，以前的第一位是核心改变，第二位是功能性改变，第三位是修订bug。现在的版本号…………除了跟chrome硬掐没看出变更意义在哪……

    不过还是支持ff……不喜欢chrome…………

    我用的15个扩展，没有一个在这次升级后不能用了，大家不要太把这次升级当会儿事儿，本质上不过是次小升级而已没有影响到太多扩展

    学google什么不好，竟然学chrome刷版本号！有本事你你一直刷下去，几年后fireofx 200,firefox300问世！ 懒得跟这没营养的版本号，一口气用firefox 7 nightly……

    加载那么多 .so, 就算什么也不做也得读取 几百 MB 的数据到内存呐！

    arch已更新FF5.0,这版去掉了xulrunner的依赖,一下省掉了80+M,不错.

    xulrunner 就是 firefox.

    就像 IE 的真面目不在 iexplorer.exe

    xulrunner和firefox本来就是一个。其实原本也就是分开打包还是合起来打包的差别而已。

    实际上在编译时间上也不会有什么差别。xulrunner在编译好的话，firefox基本不编译，大概2,3分钟就完事了。

    @microcai: csslayer是aur上firefox-opensuse-kde的maintainer，用arch想天天编译也是可以的，只要aur上的包装的够多……
