FreeBSD 7.2 发布

FreeBSD 团队已发布了 FreeBSD 7.2 版本。FreeBSD 7.2 为 FreeBSD 7-STABLE 分支的第三个版本，该版本为其用户带来了以下重要改进：

  • 完全透明的 superpages 支持
  • jails 新增多 IPv4 和 IPv6 支持
  • csup 新增 CVSMode 支持
  • 将 GNOME 和 KDE 分别更新到了 2.26、4.2.2
  • sparc64 新增 UltraSparc-III 处理器支持

    今天试着用svn代替cvs升级代码，同时freebsd-update upgrade -r 7.2-RELEASE 连接站点的速度太慢 :( 不知道是不是大家都在升级

    @Iven:

    只是安装好的服务，默认不会启动而已。配置文件也很原始。不像Ubuntu那样，团队已经做好一个相当好用的配置。不过，我想你可以试试PCBSD。

    当然，如果你想说的是GPL和BSD的理念不同的话，那就……呵呵

    可能理念的不同，造成了linux和bsd文化的差异，但不管怎么说，bsd系统也是伟大的系统，建议linux爱好者学习一下，一定会有所收获的。

    @tumashu 赞同，我一年多前了解了一下freebsd, 听bsder吹得如何如何，用了一下，不觉得有啥，结果一年后再次慢慢了解，安到我的笔记本上用用才喜欢上BSD :D 三个BSD都很棒，用习惯了linux再转BSD也比较容易，现在平时使用 windows + linux + fbsd, 都很习惯

    在我看来BSD更像一个贵族，有着她的自负与高人一等的气质，流淌着皇室的血。而Linux很象一个平民，有着粪土当年万户侯的桀骜不驯，务实而又时不时的抖落她天才般的才华，让人侧目。

    @Q 反过来说才对，因为大多的 linux 发行版都使用 system V 的配置系统，而 arch 与 slackware 等用的却是 BSD 配置系统。 @sajie 这个经典，易经都出来了。 ：）

    Linux有些浮躁，BSD比较低调务实。

    同意楼上的看法，先把Linux搞明白，再转就不是问题了。

    @Terry Wang: 实在看不出Linux有多浮躁。其实都是人而以，不同的人有不同的性格。简单的说那个社区都怎么怎么，其实没有实际意思。

    BSD技术成熟，但是对于爱折腾的人（其实国内主动搞Linux的大多都爱折腾）可以义无反顾的搞Linux，确实技术上敢引入一些不成熟确实很有意思的特性。KMS现在已经是Kernel Mainline了，但是BSD还在计划中，从中可以看出一些差别。

    不过Linux的GPL也确实在一些方面限制了新技术的引入，比如ZFS。不得不说现在zfs-fuse性能还不行。但是Btrfs也在发展，总之总有新技术或者替代技术。这是Linux引诱之处。

    现在FreeBSD也在改变，比如core team的转变。相信BSD也知道全部自己管理新技术不好忙。其实Linux现在的开发模式是很有远见的，必然适应知识爆炸的当今社会。
