Fedora 14 Laughlin

Fedora 14 正式发布，带来系统工具链升级及 D语言支持。

Fedora 14 对于最终用户带来了如下新功能：

  • 新版本桌面环境：GNOME 2.32 和 KDE 4.5
  • MMX/SSE 指令集优化的 libjpeg-turbo JPEG 库，大幅度提升照片处理速度。
  • Spice( Simple Protocol for Independent Computing Environments)支持，为远程桌面提供 2D 加速，加密以及硬件指针支持。

对于开发者有如下新功能：

  • 开放硬件开发板 Milkymist 支持。
  • 编程语言 D 支持，融合 C++ 和 Python。
  • 默认 Python 升级到 2.7，依然支持 Python 3 并行安装。
  • Object-C 的 GUI 框架 GNUStep 支持
  • 新的 gdb-heap 添加 GDB 动态内存检测功能。
  • Rakudo Star 版 Perl 6

对于系统管理员有如下新功能：

  • 提供适用于 Amazon EC2 的镜像。
  • Xen 至 KVM 迁移助手 virt-v2v。
  • IPMI 服务管理套件 ipmiutil 。
  • OpenSCAP 支持。

    其实可以认为是准时发布的了，延期决定是在 Alpha 版本前夕做出的，当时是 8 月出，离现在都两个多月了，中间会有很多不确定因素.

    Fedora 14感觉和Fedora13 没什么区别，更多的是 软件版本号的升级。

    确实在win7 c盘安装时，安装界面蓝屏不动。放ext4分区安装完毕。

    菜鸟提问 使用fedora平时有没有必要更新？ 既然14发布了，我准备尝试一下13，但是怕装完一升级冒出许多疑难杂症……

    我感觉f14比较耗资源，本本的温度达到了经常55度以上。已经关闭prelink，flash。 之前f13要低3-5度的温度。不知道是不是新内核的问题。

    启动速度明显变快 应该是得益于内核的缘故吧
