CentOS 5.3 发布

CentOS 开发社区已发布了新的 5.3 版本。CentOS 5.3 基于 Red Hat Enterpris Linux 5.3.0，其中包 括 Kernel 2.6.18、Apache 2.2、PHP 5.1.6、MySQL 5.0、PostgreSQL 8、GNOME 2.16、KDE 3.5、OpenOffice.org 2.3、Firefox 3.0、Evolution 2.12 等等。此外，CentOS 5.3 更新了美工设计，并根据用户的请求恢复了 Contrib 仓库。

    据最新linuxworld 消息，Oracle 收购Red hat 进入专利审核阶段，Red hat 董事局原则上已同意被Oracle 收购，oracle 官方发言人表示Oracle 将来可能禁止centos 社区继续发布其centos 产品，centos 社区也表示5.3 有可能是其最后一个合法的版本.

    @c: 做web服务器或者邮件服务器等当然无所谓新旧，可我要是在上面跑一些自己开发的网络服务呢？那就可能有必要要新版了吧？ 我可不愿意在古董系统上开发～偶是在桌面版新版上开发好了拿到古董上编译的，如果他们之间组件版本差距太大，会很麻烦的……

    ORACLE 收购了RH也没办法禁止发行CENTOS吧, 软件都是GPL的,它管得着?

    ORACLE 收购了RH，那rh就不再是rh了，后续版本一改名，是不是就可以更改许可了？ 没了rh，自然也就没centos了～

    @ebird 所以，每个发行版针对的用户不同，你需要新的，有些人需要经过长时间测试的和尽量成熟稳定的。

    @ebird 许可不是这么容易改的吧？整个系统里有多少程序是基于GPL发布的，Oracle要么遵守GPL，继续使用这些程序，要么放弃使用这些程序。

    RH如果卖给ORACLE未尝不是一件好事，至少可以靠着ORACLE在企业数据库的地位，把LINUX发扬光大
