Instantbird — Mozilla 推出的即时通讯软件

与 Mozilla 旗下的其他软件一样，Instantbird 构建在 Mozilla 渲染引擎之上，并具有跨平台特性。再加上 Instantbird 使用 libpurple 库，这使它具有和 Pidgin 相同的多协议支持能力，如 Google Talk、MSN、QQ、XMPP、AIM、ICQ、Gadu-Gadu、Yahoo! 等。如果仅止于此，那么 Instantbird 也没有什么能够特别吸引人的地方。但 Instantbird 的开发者希望在其中添加语音和视频功能，这难免不让人充满期待。

Instantbird 目前还处于早期的开发阶段，除了存有 bug 之外，我在试用时也感觉功能仍然十分有限。如果你想尝试 Instantbird，那么可到这里下载已发布的 0.1 版。

    QQ 这些全丢给 libpurple 处理的。

    现在 Instantbird 还是太简陋， 并且跟其他 mozilla 家族软件一样，要自己带个重复的 Gecko， 太浪费了。

    Instantbird首页上那个企鹅我第一眼看成了QQ，因为旁边都是IM的图标。
