Fedora 9 Beta 发布

Fedora 开发社区已经发布了 Fedora 9 Beta 测试版。该测试版对系统的可用性、性能及稳定性进行了改进，并更新了其中重要的组件。此外，还包括其它许多增强。

Fedora 9 Beta 的主要亮点如下：

  • GNOME 2.22
  • KDE 4.0.2
  • Firefox 3 Beta 5：Fedora 抢先一步，据 Mozilla 官方表示，该版本在本周四发布。
  • 在安装时支持重新调整 ext2、ext3 及 NTFS 分区
  • 支持创建并安装到加密文件系统
  • PackageKit
  • Kernel 2.6.25-rc5
  • Out-of-box 的 Flash 播放支持 via swfdec
  • Ext4 文件系统
  • Upstart 取代了古老的 Init

    奇怪，当我重新安装ubuntu7.10时竟然要求要liveCD的用户名、密码？也不知是不是新版本的通病？

    LiveCD 密码的问题貌似在Fedora 8 ReleaseNote 的 LiveCD 部分看到过，不太清楚了，可以去找下。

    尝试过12qwaszx这个密码没？

    这个主要亮点中竟然少了以下几个十分重要的: Out-of-box的Flash播放支持 via swfdec Ext4文件系统 Upstart取代了古老的Init

    从官方 ReleaseNote 来看，Fedora 9 终于基本实现了在7和8中承诺但未实现的功能了……

    这个... 看来没研发能力的都去用 upstart / initng(暂时没看见有人用?) 了 :D 偶这类 gentoo 白鼠已经用上 baselayout-2.0.0 with openrc 了 :D
