盘点 2008 年下半年值得期待的 Linux 发行版

今年下半年给 Toy 的感觉似乎是迎来了一个 Linux 发行版的旺季。各种主流发行版的新版竞相登场。Debian、Mandriva、Ubuntu、Fedora、openSUSE……不一而足。为了给各位 Linux 朋友提供一个全面的参考，那么 Toy 就来斗胆盘点一番这些 Linux 发行版到底在哪些方面值得期待。说得不对的地方，还请大家指正。

期待发行：Debian 5.0（代号 Lenny） 期待指数：***** 预定时间：9 月（本月） 期待特性：

  • 内核及相关组件：Linux kernel 2.6.26、glibc 2.7、GCC 4.3.1、X.Org 7.3 (xorg-server 1.4.2)、GNOME 2.22.3、KDE 3.5.9、OpenOffice.org 2.4.1
  • 可以安装超过 25,000 个二进制包
  • 提供 IPv6、NFS 4 及大文件支持
  • 从 /bin/sh 切换到 dash
  • 安装器得到了改进，同时也可以选择 Live CD 进行安装

期待发行：Mandriva Linux 2009 期待指数：*** 预定时间：10 月 9 日 期待特性：

  • 内核及相关组件：Linux kernel 2.6.27、glibc 2.8、GCC 4.3.2、X.Org 7.3 (xorg-server 1.4.2)、GNOME 2.24、KDE 4.1、OpenOffice.org 3.0
  • 完全重新设计了安装器，包括外观和功能两方面
  • 采用 Fedora 的 system-config-printer 作为系统默认的打印机配置工具
  • Firefox 3.0（含 XULRunner）

期待发行：Ubuntu 8.10（代号 Intrepid Ibex） 期待指数：**** 预定时间：10 月 30 日 期待特性：

  • 内核及相关组件：Linux kernel 2.6.27、glibc 2.8、GCC 4.3.2、X.Org 7.4 (xorg-server 1.5)、GNOME 2.24、KDE 4.1、OpenOffice.org 3.0
  • 全新设计的主题
  • Compiz 0.7.7，包含许多新的效果
  • 提供官方的 USB 安装支持
  • 带加密的 ~/Private 文件夹
  • 提供用来移除无用文件的系统清理程序
  • 改进网络管理器，并包含 3G 支持

期待发行：Fedora 10（代号 Cambridge） 期待指数：**** 预定时间：11 月 18 日 期待特性：

  • 内核及相关组件：Linux kernel 2.6.27、glibc 2.9、GCC 4.3.2、X.Org 7.4 (xorg-server 1.5)、GNOME 2.24、KDE 4.1、OpenOffice.org 3.0
  • 针对 Fedora 包提供基于 Web 的安装界面
  • 提供自动化的恢复工具──First Aid Kit
  • 提供用于访问 Microsoft Exchange 的 OpenChange
  • 新的安全审计系统和入侵检测系统
  • 对启动速度、打印、摄像头支持、及远程控制系统进行改进

期待发行：openSUSE 11.1 期待指数：*** 预定时间：12 月 18 日 期待特性：

  • 内核及相关组件：Linux kernel 2.6.27/28、GNOME 2.24、KDE 4.1.1、OpenOffice.org 3.0、Firefox 3.0
  • 支持 SELinux

    Debian 最近的 iso ( 8-18 / 8-25 ) . 安装过程不会帮我安装 GNOME，反而 Debian 4 仍然能够正常安装。不知道是系统光盘的问题，还是我的电脑问题。郁闷.

    服务器用gentoo或者arch频繁更新没必要的。。而且会引起不必要的驱动问题

    opensuse这次慢比其他的慢了几拍，debian还是相当令人期待，ubuntu的新版唯一看点就是artwork，fedora又用和大众不同的glibc，mandriva看点还是比较一般

    我到是有一点想用debian了，下载了一个debian4.0用VirtualBox虚拟了一个来用，暂时还没有什么特别的感觉

    debian 是准备好了才发布,没具体发布时间的 他要把已知BUG减到最小,基本个位了才发布的 等等吧

    话说这么长时间用Debian用的都是sid，感觉还是挺稳定的，更新也较快。实在受不了stable的老软件，呵呵。

    linuxtoy宣传arch看来效果蛮好。不过就arch这个发行版的制作宗旨来看，它只能是个小众版，不太可能成主流，我看好ubuntu系列。

    to xidear: 估计2.6.27内核能识别671，但是期望有3D支持就应该不可能了吧？还没有看到新的driver释出。
